About me

Hi& Welcome to my blog! My name is Christina Martidou and I’m an EFL teacher based in Thessaloniki, Greece. I have a degree in English Language and Literature from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and an MA in Media, Culture and Communication from UCL, Institute of Education.

I have been working both freelance and in private educational institutions with students of various ages and levels since 2000. My genuine interests include educational technology, mobile learning, blogging and continuous professional development.

I currently teach English at the American Farm School of Thessaloniki. My pride and joy is the double- path digital storybook I’ve co-authored and developed for young learners of English called Dylan& Lydia at the Fortune Teller’s’.

With this blog, I aim to develop both personally and professionally as well as to share my reflections and insights into teaching with the use of technology. I firmly believe that our lessons need to reflect the age we live in, link students’ in and out-of-school reality and rise to their contemporary needs. This is a challenge that we as educators have to meet by acquiring a new set of skills so as to exploit the full potential of the new technologies.

Among others, here you’ll also find the lesson outlines that I develop, showcasing how technology can be used in a useful, effective and meaningful way in English language teaching. You can download them via the box.net widget for free.

Thanks for visiting and feel free to leave your comment!

All the best,

Christina Martidou
